The Exmoor Tourism Partnership (ETP) has announced the appointment of new designers for the area’s flagship tourism guide, Exmoor 2011, The Visitor Guide to Exmoor, Coast and Quantocks.
Inventive Print Solutions (IPS), from Bishops Tawton near Barnstaple, has been selected. Their designers have extensive experience of producing holiday guides and other major publications.
They will take the best elements of last year’s publication and develop new creative concepts with the aim of producing the best-ever guide for the whole area.
Antony Brunt, ETP member and Chair of the Exmoor Tourism Association, said: “I am delighted with the appointment and welcome IPS to the team.
“This year the publication is being managed by a working group that comprises professionals from local authorities and ‘hands-on’ industry experts to share the work and save on production costs.
“The group received 10 responses to the design brief and have spent a lot of time ensuring the brochure will be creatively developed in line with feedback from Exmoor 2010 while providing customers with best value for money.”
Stuart Welland, Managing Director of IPS, said: “As a business local to Exmoor, we are delighted to have been selected and are really pleased to be working on a guide about a place we know and love.”
The working group is also using the outcomes of a recent brand workshop where industry leaders spanning the Quantocks, coast, Exmoor and North Devon were brought together for their thoughts on how the area should be marketed to visitors. This will help to shape Exmoor 2011.
Mr Brunt added: “The guide is not-for-profit and underwritten by West Somerset Council. The ETP is going all out to support tourism providers and now we need the industry to back us. Marketing a business in the current economic climate is tough but, without it, getting new customers is almost impossible.
“Exmoor 2010 was backed up with a national distribution plan with thousands of copies going to TICs around the country. It was promoted and warmly welcomed by visitors and industry contacts at public and trade fairs, and has been posted out to 39 different countries.”
